General Description: 
Sandbar willows are considered a suckering shrub but is short lived of up to 12 years. Sandbar willows don’t tolerate stagnate water areas. They prefer flood prone areas or areas with water tables near the surface.

Twig cankers, tar spots, aphids and willow galls
 
Uses: 
A good plant for erosion control with areas of high-water table available
