Stearns County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is proud to announce Mark Lefebvre has been recognized as one of Field to Market’s 2023 Trusted Adviser Spotlight Honorees. Through his role as a Conservation Planning Manager, he assists producers with identifying risks on their farming operations and finding solutions that will fit in with their farm and sustainability goals.
Lefebvre agricultural roots run deep in the industry, having started his career by returning to the family farm. While he was farming, he converted their cropping system to a no-till and strip-till operation as he realized the benefits associated with these practices. Lefebvre firsthand experiences has provided him with the opportunity to connect with many landowners throughout Stearns County and beyond.
“Lefebvre’s experience in implementing conservation practices on his own farm, agriculture experience and ability to communicate with farmers is what makes him an easy choice for the “trusted advisor” award,” said Dennis Fuchs, Administrator.
As a Conservation Planning Manager, Lefebvre works with landowners on becoming water quality certified through the MN Ag Water Quality Certification Program, advises and works with feedlot operators, and landowners on guiding, installing, and maintaining agricultural best management practices. Lefebvre values building strong relationships with landowners, as it enables him to help them adopt conservation practices that enhance and improve their operation.
Field to Market recognized Lefebvre on June 6, 2023, during its June Plenary and General Assembly Meeting, for his outstanding leadership in implementing innovative approaches to scale conservation agriculture. In addition to this recognition, each Spotlight Honoree and Award winner are recognized through the year through Field to Market’s communications channels and press coverage.
