Shoreline Restoration Tour

IMG_2848.JPG

Join us for a bus tour exploring shoreline restoration and water quality projects on Lake Koronis and Rice Lake in the North Fork Crow River Watershed. This informative tour will showcase firsthand how residents on Lake Koronis and Rice Lake are protecting their shorelines. These efforts are reducing erosion and runoff, improving water quality, and creating food and habitat for wildlife.

Participants will learn:

  • The benefits of natural buffers and native plantings for stabilizing shorelines and preventing soil loss.

  • How rain gardens and native vegetation filter runoff, keeping pollutants out of our lakes and rivers.

  • How to create healthy habitats that provide food and shelter for a variety of animals.

The tour starts at Paynesville's Veteran's Park, located on Lake Koronis with registration and a presentation. Then, the bus will take participants on a tour around Rice Lake and Lake Koronis, before returning to Veteran's Park for a light meal of sub sandwiches.

Please note: Limited seating is available on the tour bus. If registrations exceed capacity, priority will be given to landowners on Lake Koronis and Rice Lake. A full refund will be issued to those whom we are unable to accommodate.
