USDA-NRCS Minnesota Announces EQIP Signup for 2023 Funding

The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service in Minnesota announced the cut-off date to apply for fiscal year 2023 funds through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program is Friday, November 18. Applications are being taken at all USDA Service Centers in Minnesota.


EQIP is the primary program available to farmers and landowners for farm, ranch, and woodland conservation work, offering payments for more than 100 conservation practices.


The November 18, application deadline also applies to the following initiatives:

  • Great Lakes Restoration Initiative

  • High Tunnel Initiative

  • Mississippi River Basin Initiative

    • The FY23 focused watersheds are: Backes Lake, Goose Lake, and West Indian Lake

  • Monarch Butterfly Habitat Development Project

  • National Water Quality Initiative

    • The FY23 priority watersheds: Whiskey Creek

  • On-Farm Energy Initiative

  • Organic Initiative

NRCS accepts applications for EQIP on a continuous basis, but an application must be filed by Friday, November 18, to be eligible for the first round of funding in 2023.

To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
