5th Annual TADO Event a Success!

On Saturday, August 10 the 5th annual Take a Day OFF* "*Outdoor Family Fun" event was held on the Mississippi River north of Sartell  All in attendance had a chance to have fun and get re-connected to our natural world. There were a number of free outdoor recreational opportunities to take part in: casting and fishing from shore, paddling a canoe and traveling down the Mississippi, high-tech treasure hunts using GPS units, riding in a pontoon and watching DNR demonstrate fish survey (electrofishing) techniques, laser shooting range, archery, wild animals up close, building a birdhouse to take home, finding out about the water in our world, seeing an old time fur trader and more!  It was definitely a day OFF; Outdoor Family Fun.

This year we celebrated MN State Water Trails 50th Anniversary. We had many  opportunities to get on the Mississippi River than in the past- Canoe Paddle, Kayaks, Pontoon Tours, Electro-fishing Demos, Large Voyageur Canoe, and Paddle Boards!
