Rural Preserve Property Tax Program

A bill signed into law on April 15, 2011 has made significant changes to the Rural Preserve Property Tax Program.  The law eliminates the need for the participant to obtain a Conservation Assessment Plan or sign a covenant to enroll a parcel. Therefore, the Stearns County Soil & Water Conservation District is no longer involved in the Green Acres and Rural Preserve programs. Participants and applicants will work with the Stearns County Assessor's office.

The Stearns County Assessor's office will be providing specific information to all past and current Green Acres enrollees sometime this summer in a mailing, at informational meetings, and on their website.
